My date of birth must be in 1995 but my story didn’t begin until 7 years ago. Up until then, I was navigating life with a head full of interests, never quite settling on just one path. One of the curses of having multiple interests is you never really know if you’ve settled on the right choice. So, on the 6th of July 2017 (at the age of 22), I packed my whole life in what felt like a dozen bags and moved to the Middle East to join as a Cabin attendant in one of the world’s leading airlines. It seemed like a pretty good deal - Getting paid to explore the world. “BEST JOB IN THE WORLD” some would say. And it was.

I can proudly say that I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner in 3 different countries in a single day. Was it a dream? HELL YEAH! Was it my dream? I didn’t think so. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME? Here I was, in a well-paying job and exploring the world, and I still felt like I didn’t quite fit in. And so there I was, 3 months into my new job deciding that I wanted more, I wanted to become an airline pilot.

Of course, making this decision was the easy part. Two years in, I walked away from my job to pursue MY DREAM… Many of us mistake pursuing our dreams as effortless and going into a “flow state”. This was unlike any of it. It was dreadful, slow, and sleepless. A very wise person once said, “The best things in life come in hindsight”. And I couldn’t agree more. In a little more than a year, I had achieved my impossible dream of becoming a Commercial Pilot.

The struggle didn’t end there, as I became a pilot in one of the worst times for the aviation industry and the world at large. The Covid-19 crisis had hit and the world came to a standstill. We all know how the story went. I was forced to take my old job as a cabin crew in the interim. Another two years passed, we had finally come out of the crisis and the travel momentum picked up. People were out on the streets again, airlines bounced back and hirings surged.

Today, I am thrilled to be a part of yet another leading airline in the world, headquartered in India. Which brings me to the question… WHY WRITE THIS BLOG? And that’s a question with multiple answers.

First and foremost, this blog is and will always be my diary, the things that I, as a cabin attendant (then) and as a pilot (now) find challenging and how I try to overcome these challenges. By extension, I hope to help/inspire/encourage my fellow Aviators to do the same. And lastly, in a world obsessed with Instagram, I still have immense respect for the sanctity of the written word.

To sum it up, if you are someone who:
